JACKS OF PNG IS PNG FASHION WEEKS GOLD PARTNER
8 August, 2024
In a time of uncertainty, a few brands in Papua New Guinea have not only survived, they have thrived. Not only have they shown great resilience, they have shown great character by reaching out to support others.
The iconic, Jacks of PNG is now the Gold partner for ASCENSION, PNG Fashion Week’s season seven, crem de la crem show. Jack’s of PNG is the biggest multi- format retailer in Papua New Guinea and is an extension of Jack’s of Fiji which is a multi award winning family business founded and established in 1969.
Jack’s of PNG launched its first store at Waigani Central, Port Moresby, on March 30, 2015, marking its entry into the fashion retail market. Over the years, we’ve set a new standard in fashion retail by offering high-quality, well-designed clothing and accessories at affordable prices in a modern, attractive setting. Since then, we’ve expanded to five additional locations: Vision City, Mount Hagen, Madang, and Lae. Unfortunately, we’ve had to close our Rainbow store, but we continue to serve you at our other locations.
PNG Fashion Week is in its 7th year of producing high end fashion events that market and showcase PNG’s art and culture, through the spotlight of Fashion. “The synergy between both brands is electric, this partnership is essential to the growth of the fashion and textile industry in PNG, it gives our fashion designers and cultural creatives access to the brilliance of the Jacks of PNG phenomenon.” Said Jayde Ovia, Executive Assistant to the Manager Director.
“It is so important to have retailers in the room when we host our fashion events, and this partnership surpasses that, to not just be in the room, but to actually partner at this level is such a massive boost to the impact of the work of PNG Fashion Week.” Philma Kelegai, Managing Director, PNG Fashion Week. “We are so proud to create an incredible event that gives the opportunity for designers and retailers to meet, where ideas can flourish and dreams can be realized. We are so proud and so excited to be working together in 2024 and we look forward to a great relationship going forward.” Miss Kelegai added.
“This collaboration is immensely important to us, as it opens doors to engaging with local talents and designers, and gaining fresh perspectives. We deeply value the opportunity to connect with the creative community, and through this partnership, we’re excited to expand our interactions and learn from the diverse experiences and insights of those we admire” Ms Annabelle- Marketing Team Leader- Jack’s of PNG
Ascension is scheduled for September during the independence weekend and will feature 13 local designers and two international designers, tickets will be on sale by the end of the week.
