PNG FASHION WEEK EMPOWERS YOUNG PEOPLE WITH FREE FITNESS TRAINING SESSIONS
PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea – PNG Fashion Week is continuing its mission to empower young people in the country by offering free fitness training sessions throughout the month of February 2025. The initiative, designed to support aspiring models in getting in shape for upcoming auditions, is also open to anyone in the community looking to improve their health and fitness.
Local fitness trainer, Eldon Toti, is currently leading the free sessions, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Sir John Guise Track Field. These sessions are available for the month of February 2025 only. Toti, a highly accomplished athlete, brings a wealth of experience to the training sessions. His impressive career includes his debut in 2019 for Team PNG, where he competed in the Pacific Games in Samoa and the Oceania Games in Cairns, Australia. He also participated in the Northern Marianas Mini Pacific Games in 2022 and the Pacific Games in Solomon Islands in 2023. Prior to these international competitions, Toti trained extensively between Gold Coast and Brisbane, specializing in Long Jump and High Jump.
“I’m passionate about not only helping people get fit, but also about encouraging youth to believe in their abilities and push themselves to new heights—just as I’ve done in my athletic career,” said Toti. “These sessions are a way to share my knowledge and experience while also creating a fun and welcoming environment for anyone who wants to improve their health.”
Toti is currently the leading long jumper in the country, and his skills and experience make him the perfect mentor for young people seeking to get fit and healthy. The training sessions are designed not only for aspiring models but also for anyone in the community who wants to be part of a fitness movement that promotes healthy lifestyles and builds positive relationships.
PNG Fashion Week is dedicated to empowering the youth of Papua New Guinea and providing opportunities for growth and development. By offering these free fitness training sessions throughout February, they are helping young people improve their physical health, build self-confidence, and connect with others who share similar goals.
“Through this initiative, we are providing more than just fitness sessions—we’re building a supportive community and encouraging a culture of well-being,” said Philma Kelegai, Founder and Managing Director, PNG Fashion Week. “We believe in the power of our youth and are excited to contribute positively to their lives, both inside and outside of the fashion world.”
The training sessions are open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, but please note that they are only available for the month of February 2025.
